A hip-hop artist is calling on the Department of Homeland Security to take down a social media post that used his music without consent.
Joey Valence of the musical duo JVB (Joey Valence & Brae) on Wednesday said that he was “disgusted to see our music was used without our knowledge or consent to promote” Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
“To be clear this video does NOT represent my OR JVB’s thoughts or beliefs in any form and we are actively working to have it taken down,” Valence said on X .
A 31-second video posted by the Homeland Security X account Wednesday night features JVB song “Hooligang” playing over footage of ICE agents loading into armored trucks. The post was still up as of Thursday afternoon.
