LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Mid-Michigan is seeing its first real taste of cold, winter weather this week.
Even on a sunny Thursday, temperatures struggled to reach the 20s, with much of the area in the teens. And temperatures are expected to plunge even further overnight into Friday morning. Low temps will likely fall into the single digits overnight, while wind chills likely drop below zero.
This is the coldest weather Mid-Michigan has seen since February and temps are about 20 degrees below average for this time of year.
If you’re hoping for a warm-up, temperatures will climb back up into the mid-20s on Friday, but wind chills will remain in the teens. Temps will be back up around freezing on Saturday, before cooling off again on Sunday and into the new week.
