DETROIT -- Two players who had been in the Detroit Tigers organization since 2019 have signed minor-league deals with new teams after reaching free agency.
Left-hander Andrew Magno, who was drafted out of Ohio State, has signed a minor-league deal with the Baltimore Orioles.
Infielder Carlos Mendoza, who signed as a free agent six years ago, has joined the Toronto Blue Jays on a minor-league deal.
Magno, 27, has been an outstanding performer for Double-A Erie over the last three seasons, although he struggled to carry that success over to Triple-A Toledo in 2024. He went 8-1 with a 2.31 ERA for the SeaWolves in 2025, striking out 76 in 66 1/3 innings.
Mendoza, who turns 26 this month, has also spent most of his Tigers tenure in Erie. In 2025, he drew 51 walks and struck out just 36 tim
