MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced significant arrests during Operation Metro Surge, targeting dangerous criminal illegal aliens in the city.

Tricia McLaughlin, Homeland Security Assistant Secretary, criticized local sanctuary policies and officials like Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.

"ICE law enforcement are risking their lives to protect Minnesotans while their own elected officials sit by and do nothing," McLaughlin said.

The operation, which began on December 1, focused on apprehending individuals such as child sex offenders, domestic abusers, and violent gang members. ICE emphasized their commitment to locating and deporting all criminal illegal aliens.
