TWO RIVERS, Wis. (WKOW) — Two men claim they were paid to pick up a 16-year-old girl from Wisconsin and drive her to across the country to her 20-year-old boyfriend, according to court documents.

The girl, who is now home safe, was reported missing from Two Rivers on Nov. 28. Her family had not heard from her and she didn't show up for work.

According to a criminal complaint filed Dec. 1, a witness claimed the girl's boyfriend "had become involved with the cartel," and the girl believed she was being followed. The complaint stated the girl "woke up to an airdropped photo of a gun pointed at the residence where she was staying."

Investigators identified the victim's boyfriend as Eduardo Becerra Flores, 20, who had an address out of Appleton. He has a bench warrant for felony drug offense
