FOXBORO – With a strong rushing attack and a few timely defensive plays, Cohasset won its second Div. 7 Super Bowl title since 2021.

Senior Mike Wildfire and senior captain Gus Greene had all three rushing scores and several turnovers on downs were more than enough as No. 1 Cohasset topped No. 2 Amesbury 22-14 in the state title game at Gillette Stadium on Thursday night.

“It feels incredible,” Skippers coach Pepe Afanasiw said. “Granted, it’s happened a couple times, but this is a great group of kids. They’ve worked their tails off and they are earning their just desserts right now because they are such good people on top of good football players.”
