DETROIT. (WILX) - The Detroit Lions lead the Dallas Cowboys 20-9 at halftime on Thursday Night Football at Ford Field in Detroit.

Detroit and Dallas traded field goals on their opening drives before trading three-and-out punts on their next drives. Detroit got in the end zone first on a one-yard touchdown run by Jahmyr Gibbs to make it 10-3 in the late first quarter.

Dallas added another field goal to cut the lead to 10-6 in the second quarter. Detroit recovered a fumble at midfield before David Montgomery broke off a 35-yard touchdown run to push the lead to 17-6.

Dallas hit another field goal with under a minute remaining to cut the lead to 17-9. The Lions responded with a quick drive to reach field goal range and set up a Jake Bates kick to make it 20-9.
