SACRAMENTO, Calif. — On Thursday, a Sacramento teenager pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to U.S. Attorney Eric Grant.

19-year-old Joseph Allen Davis was identified as the shooter in an April 12, 2025, incident at Rainbow City Park in Davis, where three people were injured. Authorities found a loaded short-barreled AR-15-style pistol in his apartment. Davis, previously convicted of a felony gun possession offense, is prohibited from having firearms.

The case was investigated by multiple agencies, including the FBI and local law enforcement. Davis is set to be sentenced on March 26, 2026, and could face up to 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
