OROVILLE, Calif. — On Thursday, Butte County District Attorney told Action News Now that the 20-year-old Chico man, Justin Stephen Lister, the suspect charged with a reckless shooting at a Magalia birthday bonfire, waived his preliminary hearing.

According to the Butte County District Attorney's Office, Lister waived his right to the hearing, admitting there was enough evidence to move forward to a jury trial. The case is scheduled for a jury trial setting hearing on December 18. Lister is also facing a probation violation for a previous felony assault conviction and remains held without bail.
