SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Miss Teen USA visited Crosslines Tuesday evening to celebrate her victory and inspire local girls in the community.
Mailyn Marsh of Ozark High School was crowned Miss Teen USA at the national pageant in October. The event at Crosslines collected feminine hygiene products to support her advocacy message of helping women and girls.
“Three in five girls actually miss school every single day due to period poverty and so my advocacy and my focus for my year as Miss Missouri Teen USA and my year as Miss Teen USA is keeping girls in school and giving them the same opportunities by providing them these necessities,” Marsh said.
Girls attending the event heard Marsh’s story and took pictures with the titleholder. The first 50 girls who arrived received crowns.
