FOXBOROUGH ― Cohasset’s key piece during its championship journey has been its run game, campaigned by star running back Gus Greene and quarterback Mike Wildfire.
On Thursday night, in the Division VII state championship against No. 2 Amesbury, and on a cold and windy night at Gillette Stadium, the top-seeded Skippers’s run game stepped up in the team’s biggest moment of the season.
With just under 200 yards total on the ground, including 131 by Greene, and three total rush touchdowns, Cohasset edged past the Redhawks for a 22-14 victory, and raised the championship trophy for the third time in school history.
