DETROIT — Jahmyr Gibbs ran for three touchdowns, and the Detroit Lions used a dominant ground attack and a steady stream of explosive plays to beat the Dallas Cowboys 44–30 on Sunday at Ford Field.

Detroit (8-5) relied on early scoring balance, taking a 10–3 lead in the first quarter after Jake Bates opened the game with a 38-yard field goal and Gibbs punched in a 1-yard rushing touchdown. Dallas (6-6-1) matched with a 57-yard field goal from Brandon Aubrey, who would go on to account for most of the Cowboys’ scoring.

Aubrey hit field goals from 42, 55 and 57 yards in the first half, but Detroit countered with a 35-yard touchdown sprint from David Montgomery and a 47-yard Bates field goal as time expired, sending the Lions into halftime up 20–9.
