HAZEL PARK – Joe Emmons picked the right time to score his first goal of the season.
The sophomore defenseman scored his first goal of his varsity career with 7:34 left in overtime, as De La Salle snapped a three-game losing streak with a 4-3 Michigan Interscholastic Hockey League South Division victory over Detroit U-D Jesuit at the Hazel Park Ice Arena.
Connor Blackmoore and Keegan Taylor picked up the assists on the game-winning goal.
The win helped De La Salle overcome the recent losing streak where the Pilots were outscored 18-3 by three state-ranked teams, including a 8-0 defeat by Division 3 top-ranked Orchard Lake St. Mary’s on Tuesday.
