A teenage girl has died in a freak domestic accident after getting trapped when she squeezed her head between metal window bars at her family home to see if her mum was coming home.

The 15-year-old’s dad was inside the flat but didn’t realise what had happened until it was too late and she had suffocated. The alarm was raised around 9.30pm on Tuesday.
