Horrifying images reveal streets transformed into rapid rivers and cars swept away by floods as red weather warnings have been issued in a favourite holiday spot for Brits.

This week, authorities on the Greek islands of Rhodes and Lemnos declared a state of emergency following the arrival of Storm Byron , which has claimed two lives and caused extensive damage.
