BOSTON — Morgan Geekie has become someone the Bruins can rely on. Even more so with David Pastrnak out of the Bruins lineup.
Pastrnak is dealing with an undisclosed injury that has kept him sidelined for four straight games. In that four-game stretch, Geekie has eight points, including a three-point effort Thursday night in Boston’s 5-2 win over the St. Louis Blues.
“I always like when guys step up when one of their top linemates is missing,” coach Marco Sturm said after the game. “He’s feeling really good right now. He has that touch. He’s in the right spot. He could tell his very loose, and again with his hands and release, you name it. It’s fun to watch.”
Geekie had goal Thursday to bring his season total to 21. He’s one behind Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon.
