SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - It’s a nightmare situation...getting a call from your child that they’re in danger. That’s what was facing a Sioux Falls family yesterday afternoon. Sergeant Aaron Benson tells us what happened.

“Her 15-year-old daughter had texted her saying that she was being kidnapped and that she was currently in a black vehicle at a gas station near 10th St. and I-229,” said Benson.

Police located the vehicle on city security cameras and had a silent tool, a tracking app.

“The mother of the victim in this case was also using an app to track her daughter and was giving updated location information to Metro Communications... Life 360,” said Benson.
