ORLANDO, Fla. – Former mayor of Orlando Glenda Hood will be honored Friday as the city renames a park along Lake Baldwin.

Harbor Park will be renamed during an event starting at 10:30 a.m., according to the city’s website .

In a statement, the city describes Hood as a central figure in its history.

Hood served three terms as Orlando’s mayor starting in 1992 before going on to serve more than a decade in the Orlando City Council and later take on the role of Florida Secretary of State from 2003 to 2005, the statement reads.
