Some of our favourite entertainment franchises may have an uncertain future after it has been announced that Netflix has acquired Warner Bros. and HBO Max in a $82.7 deal.
Following the news that Warner Bros. had been put up for sale earlier this year, the world was eager to see which major company would purchase it, especially as it owns the rights to some of our favourite franchises.
This includes Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Dune, Batman, Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon and The Last of Us and now, the rights to all of these franchises will officially belong to none other than Netflix.
“Our mission has always been to entertain the world,” said Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix in a newly announced press release.
