A deputy mayor has spoken of the "significant blow" to a Suffolk town after it was revealed a homeware store was to close.

Bosses of Townrow Home Store in Sudbury announced the "difficult decision" to close the town centre store at the end of November after five years.

Adrian Stohr, deputy mayor of Sudbury, said: "It is with deep sadness that I acknowledge the imminent closure of Townrow in Sudbury. Since opening its doors five years ago, Townrow has stood out as a beautifully presented, high-quality store – the kind more often found in larger towns and thriving villages.

"Its wide range of thoughtfully chosen products made it a truly valued part of our high street and a destination for many.
