A Johnstown man was sentenced Thursday, Dec. 4, in Butler County Common Pleas Court for forgery and bad checks charges filed by Adams Township police and state police, and a resisting arrest charge filed by Evans City police.

David McCormick, 37, was sentenced to concurrently serve 2 to 23.5 months in the Butler County Prison after pleading guilty to charges of bad checks and forgery followed by 12 months of probation after pleading guilty to resisting arrest.

In addition, Judge Joseph Kubit ordered McCormick to pay $940 restitution in the bad checks case, $521 in restitution to Chuck Kennedy’s Auto Sales of Mars in the forgery case and $1,080 to Evans City police for resisting arrest.
