CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- The City of Carbondale is hosting a fresh food box giveaway on Friday, December 19, starting at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall's West parking lot.

Cusumano & Sons, Inc. will provide fresh food for the event. Crews will give out the food and will continue until supplies run out, providing residents with nutritious food for the holiday season.

“The holiday season is a celebrated time in Carbondale and this food box giveaway is one way we can share that spirit with our community," City Manager Stan Reno said. "The opportunity to provide fresh food to our residents reflects our belief that everyone deserves access to nutritious meals, especially during the holidays."
