WASHINGTON — The U.S. men's national team will learn its group stage opponents Friday when FIFA conducts the 2026 World Cup draw at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The event will set the stage for soccer's biggest tournament on home soil next summer.
The Americans, coached by Mauricio Pochettino, were pre-assigned to Group D as one of three host nations alongside Mexico (Group A) and Canada (Group B). The draw will determine which three teams from pots 2, 3 and 4 will join the U.S. in group play.
Who will Team USA play in the World Cup group stage?
The draw ceremony begins at 12 p.m. ET (9 a.m. PT) and will determine which countries will join the U.S. in Group D. According to a schedule shared by ESPN, the drawing itself won't begin until around 12:45 p.m. E
