Aberdeen's railway continues to get busier as the latest passenger numbers were revealed by the Office of Rail and Road.

New figures have ranked the UK's busiest stations as Glasgow Central retained top spot in Scotland, with 25.3million people using the busy travel hub. The data, gathered in the last year to the end of March, also revealed another increase in numbers at Aberdeen as the station continues its post-Covid recovery.

In the period from April 2023 to March 2024, a total of 2,287,858 passengers travelled through the Granite City railway station, but that number has increased further this year. The ORR's latest figures showed 2,377,660 passengers travelled to and from Aberdeen, making it the UK's 242nd busiest railway station.
