An agreement between the School District of Haverford Township and its teachers union has been announced.

Near the end of a school board work session, board President Dr. Latanya King announced that following a Dec. 3 bargaining session a tentative agreement was reached with the Haverford Teachers Education Association to resolve the contract with teachers in the district.

The announcement said formal ratification is expected late this month. Terms of a new contract were not announced.

Teachers have been working without a contact since the beginning of the year. The union has said teachers need higher pay since inflation has impacted living standards. A second demand was for additional professional time.
