A Northumberland high school will see days of strike action over two weeks over an alleged failure to deal with disruptive pupil behaviour.
Unionised teachers at Haydon Bridge High School are set to walk out on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 December next week. Both the National Education Union (NEU) and NASUWT – The Teachers’ Union have stated the walk out is due to what they see as lack of progress on measures to crackdown on poor pupil behaviour.
Further action will also be taken by unionised teachers on December 16, 17 and 18.
A previous strike, scheduled on November 19 and 25, was called off whilst union representatives, Northumberland County Council and school leaders met to resolve the issue. However, the NEU branch secretary told the Local Democracy
