The study analyzed 50 major airports worldwide, examining factors like average departure delays, canceled flights, security checks, and baggage claim issues. Newark scored an 18.46 out of 100, earning it the top spot on the stress index.

The airport is currently undergoing significant upgrades, including a $3.5 billion AirTrain Newark system to replace the outdated version from 1996.
