TORONTO — A Kingston woman is $1 million richer after winning the grand prize in a special anniversary lottery.

Helena Fedora won the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation’s Welcome to Wintario contest.

The free-to-enter draw was held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Wintario lottery.

“This surprise feels amazing, astonishing! I’m overjoyed,” Fedora said in an OLG news relase. “I just won a million dollars — I never thought I would say those words.

“I am so grateful,” she added “This is going to make so many changes in my life and for my family.”

The contest launched in August and included a $1 million grand prize and 50 $1,000 prizes.
