It’s been called a “game-changer” for people facing addictions and homelessness, and on Monday the region’s new HART Hub will open its first doors.

Dignitaries joined officials at Lanark Leeds and Grenville Addictions and Mental Health (LLGAMH) Friday morning for the ceremonial opening of the HART Hub’s Lanark site, located at 9 Armstrong Drive in Smiths Falls.

LLGAMH is the operator of the new tri-county Homelessness and Addiction Recovery Treatment (HART) Hub.

“We’re really excited,” the agency’s chief executive officer, Kim Gifford, said in an interview ahead of Friday’s event.

“It really is a new era for our region.”
