EARLE, Ark. (KAIT) - Arkansas State Police arrested the City of Earle’s former chief court clerk after an audit revealed financial discrepancies.

On Dec. 4, the ASP Criminal Investigation Division charged Chiquita Moore, 41, with theft of property and tampering with a public record.

According to a news release from ASP, an Arkansas legislative audit uncovered approximately $23,671 in discrepancies tied to Moore’s tenure with the City of Earle.

ASP began investigating Moore in February at the request of the Second Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney.

Moore was booked into the Crittenden County Detention Center and later released on her own recognizance.
