The Windsor Police Service has launched a new program aimed at providing faster, more specialized support to children and youth experiencing mental-health crises.

The Youth Crisis Response Team (YCRT) pairs frontline officers with a dedicated youth social worker from Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare’s Regional Children’s Centre.

Windsor Police Chief Jason Crowley says the program arrives at a time when officers are increasingly responding to situations involving youth in distress.
