Chad Spodick, who starred on Logo's first-ever all-day dating reality TV series "Finding Prince Charming," died suddenly at 42 years old.
Spodick's sister, Stacy, announced his death on Facebook this week, sharing a GoFundMe page launched to aid their mother, Felice.
Kate Werbowski, who launched the campaign, called Spodick's death "sudden and heartbreaking." She remembered Spodick as "the type of person who poured himself into others." The cause of death was not made public.
Spodick grew up on Long Island and worked as a child actor in Off Broadway plays in Manhattan, TV shows, commercials, and more, according to a 1997 article in the New York Times and his LinkedIn. At just 13 years old, Spodick, who then went by "Chad Aaron," was in the Off Broadway production of "Kerouac" and "Stanley" at the Circle in the Square, both at the same time, the NYT said.
Spodick's LinkedIn shows he held lead roles in several major films between 1998 and 2001, including “The Yards” (directed by James Gray and co-starring Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron, Faye Dunaway, James Caan, Joaquin Phoenix, and Ellen Burstyn), “The Boys of Sunset Ridge”, and the Sundance Award-winning short “Old Salt.” His Broadway credits include “Summer and Smoke” at the Roundabout Theatre, “Stanley” at Circle in the Square, and “Kerouac (The Musical).” He also appeared in episodes of “Law & Order,” “Revolver,” “Ball & Chain,” and “Gross Slide.” His commercial work includes projects for Miramax/Disney, NYU Productions, Panasonic, and multiple PSA and consumer brands.
In 2016, Spodick was among 13 contestants on "Finding Prince Charming," hosted by NSYNC's Lance Bass. He left the show after six weeks and later would accuse lead Robert Sepelveda of trying to pursue him and other contestants after the show ended — despite choosing a winner, Just Jared reported at the time.
At the time of his death, Spodick was working in the luxury private jet industry, his LinkedIn page shows.
