RFK Jr. and Olivia Nuzzi

By Cecilia Levine From Daily Voice

Vanity Fair and political reporter Olivia Nuzzi are going their separate ways.

The magazine announced they were parting  ways with Nuzzi just months after she was named the new West Coast editor, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday, Dec. 5, citing a statement from publisher Condé Nast.

Nuzzi grew up in Middletown, NJ, and attended Fordham University. Nuzzi became the subject of public attention last year after she was fired from New York magazine following the revelation she had an inappropriate relationship with United States Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. while he was running for president.

Nuzzi had covered Kennedy in a profile published in November 2023.

Her former fiancée, reporter Ryan Lizza, has published a series of Substack posts accusing Nuzzi of having an affair with former South Carolina governor Mark Sanford and working directly with Kennedy's campaign to suppress bad stories about him.

Nuzzi dismissed Lizza's postings as “obsessive and violating fan fiction-slash-revenge porn.”

The split with Vanity Fair was announced three days after Nuzzi released her memoir, "American Canto," which details her relationship with Kennedy and has received negative reviews

Vanity Fair had published an exclusive excerpt from the book on Nov. 17.
