UNION COUNTY, S.C. —

Deputies have arrested a man in Union County, South Carolina, who is accused of criminal sexual conduct with a child.

Around 8 p.m. Wednesday, deputies with the Union County Sheriff's Office conducted an interview with someone about allegations of criminal sexual conduct involving Christopher Eugene Kirby and a 6-year-old girl.

According to the arrest warrants, Kirby engaged in a series of lewd and lascivious acts with a young child between the beginning of the year and December. He is also accused of sexually assaulting the child between August 2019 and December 2024.

The abuse allegedly occurred at a home on Pasture Drive.

Kirby was charged with first-degree and third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 11 years of age.
