SOUTH CAROLINA, USA — South Carolina leaders met on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, to recap this year’s efforts against human trafficking and outlined their plans for 2026.

James Massie, the human trafficking program coordinator with the General Assembly’s office shared this year’s efforts focused on “Phase 3” of their overall plan.

“In 2025 -- we focused on establishing partnerships with the public transit systems, in particular the major transit systems in our state,” he shared.

Lisa O’Connell-Hall, with Jasmine Road, shared that her organization has been boots on the ground with efforts.

“We have found a lot of women who go through our program have a hard time because they have gaps of employment, criminal records, and cannot get employment,” she explained.
