KINGSTON, N.Y. — Uptown streets were packed Friday evening for the return of the Snowflake Festival, organized by the Kingston Uptown Business Association.
Running from 6 to 8 p.m., the festival saw large numbers come out to ring in the holiday season. Spectators gathered in a particularly large crowd at the beginning of the festival to welcome Santa Claus.
Santa Claus was part of a parade up North Front Street, where he rode in on an antique fire truck to light a large Christmas tree. After officially kicking off the festival, he moved to the Senate House to take photos and make sure children got what they wanted for Christmas.
Following the parade and tree-lighting, visitors to the festival were offered a wide range of festive activities.
