HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Kakaako bubble tea and dessert shop was fined $2,000 after health officials say employees removed a yellow placard.

The Hawaii Department of Health (DOH) issued a Notice of Violation and Order against GFL Tea LLC, which works with Sun Tea Mix on 400 Keawe St.

Multiple violations found

On July 30, a health inspector noted several violations while inspecting Sun Tea Mix:

No person in charge was on site with a valid food handler’s certification

The handwashing sink was not accessible

Food was not protected from cross-contamination

Chlorine sanitizer was not at the proper concentration

Hot water for manual ware washing was not at 110 degrees Fahrenheit

The inspector told the facility to display the yellow placard until the violations were cleared.
