HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii Gov. Josh Green ordered the state flag and the U.S. flag be flown at half staff on Sunday in remembrance of the attack on Pearl Harbor during World War II.
At the direction of President Donald Trump , Green ordered the lowering of the flags from sunrise to sunset on Sunday.
“Every year, we pause to honor the lives lost on December 7, 1941, and the extraordinary bravery shown in the hours and days that followed,” Green said.

“The First Lady and I will join our community at the Pearl Harbor National Memorial as we remember the service members and civilians whose courage in a moment of unthinkable tragedy changed the course of history,” Green said.
