OMAHA, Neb. —
A man is now facing a felony charge after Douglas County sheriff's deputies said he busted through an emergency exit at the Douglas County courthouse and caused thousands of dollars in damage.
Deputies told KETV that Steven Henry, 33, was originally at the courthouse Wednesday for a few misdemeanor traffic offenses. While Henry was waiting in the courtroom, the deputy assigned to the courtroom left to book another individual.
Typically, the sheriff's office said the judge will skip anyone with a warrant until the deputy returns, but in this case, Henry was alerted to the warrants against him and took off before the deputy returned to the courtroom.
