ROCKPORT, Wash. - The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has announced the closure of State Route 20 for the winter season.
According to WSDOT, the stretch between the Ross Dam Trailhead and Silver Star Mountain gate closed at 6 p.m. on Thursday night due to increased avalanche risk in the area.
There is currently no exact date for reopening in the spring, but the closure is expected to last at least several months.
