SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. – Timothy King, a 65-year-old man from Chattaroy, has been sentenced to 288 months in prison following a violent incident in March 2024.

The incident occurred at a Chattaroy mobile home park, when King’s wife threatened to call the police following his “erratic behavior.” King smashed her phone and prevented her from leaving the trailer. King’s wife managed to escape, and when she came back, the trailer had been burnt down.

Firefighters responding to the fire reported hearing gunshots from the nearby woods. According to court documents, first responders feared for their safety, with claims that someone was intentionally targeting them. A fire captain reported seeing King aiming a gun at him.

King was arrested and faced multiple charges, including assault, arson,
