NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — One lane of the southbound I-190 bridge over Niagara Falls Boulevard is expected to reopen on Saturday morning, as the New York State Department of Transportation completes initial emergency repairs following a truck strike last month.
The bridge was damaged when it was struck by a commercial truck carrying a shipping container last month, prompting a full closure of the southbound span.
NYSDOT in a statement on Friday said those emergency repairs "have been successfully completed ahead of schedule," allowing traffic to resume in one lane, weather permitting.
State transportation officials also announced that two southbound on-ramps will reopen Saturday morning: Porter Road/Packard Road and Witmer Road. The ramps had been closed "to help manage traffic flow during
