BEMIDJI — No. 5 Minnesota Duluth shook off an early Bemidji State goal and dumped the Beavers 4-1 on Friday night at Sanford Center.

Though Olivia Dronen's goal for BSU at the 9:50 mark of the first period was the first the Beavers had scored in more than 200 minutes of gameplay against the Bulldogs dating back more than a calendar year, UMD recovered to get to 11-6-0 on the season and 7-6-0 in the WCHA.

An equalizer did not come immediately for UMD, but just before the halfway point in the second period, UMD's Rae Mayer snapped a shot from the right circle past BSU goalie Ava Hills. Late in the period, UMD took its first lead when Caitlin Kraemer backhanded a pass into the slot, where Thea Johansson had more than enough room to shoot it home with 1:43 until intermission.
