"The Diplomat" is officially returning for more politically charged drama .

As confirmed by Netflix in May 2025, "The Diplomat" Season 4 will pick up straight after last season's shocking finale. Keri Russell and Rufus Sewell return as Kate and Hal Wyler, while Allison Janney, Bradley Whitford (pictured below), and Nana Mensah have been promoted to series regulars.

“I’m so excited about Season 4,” Deborah Cahn, the showrunner and executive producer, tells Tudum. “It’s going to be a lot of fun. We get to the end of a season and I always think, ‘Well, there’s no way that we can do this again.’ And then we dig back into it, and it’s like, ‘Oh my God, we have to keep going.’ ”
