BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (WNDU) - Countryside Academy in Benton Harbor has a festive fundraiser for the holiday season.

High school students crafted and sold wreaths to raise funds for the school’s agriculture program.

Countryside Academy frames its curriculum through the lens of agricultural and environmental studies.

Students in Casey Meyer’s agricultural science class harvested evergreens on campus and pruned the branches to assemble the wreaths by hand.

Each wreath costs $20 with all proceeds benefiting the school’s Future Farmers of America chapter.

Meyer says the fundraiser helps fund more hands-on education opportunities — an essential part of agriculture studies.
