A former top prospect of the San Francisco Giants has found a new home with a National League foe.

There was a time when infielder Marco Luciano was the No. 1 prospect for San Francisco. He was ranked as San Francisco's top prospect in 2021 and 2022 by MLB.com. He dropped down and was the team's No. 2 prospect behind lefty pitcher Kyle Harrison in 2023 and 2024 .

Unfortunately, his time with the organization didn't go as planned, and it ended on Friday. Luciano was claimed off waivers by the Pittsburgh Pirates, as reflected on his official MLB.com page .
