SAN ANTONIO — Sinton needed all four quarters, but a second-half surge and a clutch field goal by Blake Bordelon was enough to take a spot in the Class 4A Division II state semifinals.
Bordelon overcame a blocked kick earlier in the game by making a 19-yard field goal with 6 seconds to play for the winning points in a 45-42 win on Dec. 5 and advance to the state semifinals for the first time since 2014.
Mykha Green, who began the night with more than 3,000 rushing yards in 2025, added to his magical season by rushing for 253 yards and four touchdowns in a wild regional final matchup at Heroes Stadium.
The teams traded touchdowns for three quarters before Green gave the Pirates their first lead at 42-35 after scoring his 47th touchdown of the season.
The Gobblers tied the game on a bloc
