This month, we spotlight Joshua E.B. Smith of Vienna, West Virginia. In addition to being a writer of fantasy and horror, Josh is also a cosplayer and president of the Cre8tive Cosplay of the Mid-Ohio Valley, Inc. Each year around the holidays Josh does a food shop benefiting local food pantries. Let’s meet Josh.

Q: What inspired you to start writing?

A: In my late teens, I was an avid player of the PC game, “EverQuest” and then later, “EverQuest 2.” In my very late teens, my grandmother had a stroke that required her to receive full-time care. I wasn’t able to play the games anymore because my efforts were dedicated to that, but I effectively missed my old characters.
