"Better buses" are set to arrive in the South West as millions of pounds of funding has been announced by the government to improve the transport network and bus infrastructure.
£245.9 million of funding will be allocated to the South West in a multi-year funding scheme with local councils and local authorities able to spend the money to make buses "faster, cheaper and more reliable".
After the Bus Services Act became law in October, local authorities were given the power to run local services how they see fit and the funding boost is set to allow schemes, such as the 'Kids Go Free' initiative from the West of England Combined Authority (WECA) to keep going.
