All UK phone owners issued alert about overnight charging View Image
Does charging your phone overnight ruin the battery? That's the question the experts are asking - and it's one that many of us ask ourselves too. Taking to social media, the experts at Which? clarified what actually happens, and it's good news. Adam Speight, a Senior Research and Writer at Which? said: "No, it's not true. Modern smartphones are just way better than that now.
"There’s some truth to it. It used to be the case. Phones used to charge up to 100% and keep on doing it for several hours throughout the night, and that would be in a high-stress state. It could damage your battery.
"Now they’re way smarter than that. They’ll stay at 80% a lot of the night and sort of top it up right before you get up."
